The economic and social disruption created by the cloud is a tremendous opportunity for our customers to create economic value and social good for the communities that they serve. I believe that NetApp data management and storage technologies when used with public cloud provides customers greater benefits than just using public cloud providers alone. Specifically, the value we provide centers around choice, cost, and control. In future posts, I will explore these aspects in greater detail.

In addition, to my thoughts about "big picture" about the cloud, I am also going to use this space as a way of sharing the detail on how to deploy NetApp Private Storage for Cloud into Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, SoftLayer, and other clouds. I will explore how the NetApp Private Storage for Cloud architecture is not only multi-cloud capable, but also multi-platform as well. Finally, I will be showing how NetApp Private Storage for Cloud fits into our overall data fabric cloud strategy, with Cloud Volumes ONTAP, and our new SteelStore product.

I am so fortunate to work on this team. There is nothing like working with a group of really inspired, creative, and driven people who truly want to make an impact. I believe that our team culture is a competitive advantage and it is our customers who will greatly benefit from our efforts.

Besides being fortunate to work on this team, I am also a father of two daughters (ages 8 and 10). They keep me very busy outside of work with all of their activities. I am a big fan of the San Francisco Giants - winners of the Major League Baseball World Series 3 out of the last 5 years. I also torture myself by being a fan of the San Jose Sharks, who seem to invent new ways of breaking my heart during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Apparently, the folks at Marvel have devised an efficient method of separating me from my money with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Jeremy has set up this blog to be interactive, so feel free to post a reply here or you can follow me on Twitter at @mark_beaupre. It would be great to hear from you!
